Mirror sliding wardrobe doors

Mirror doors are still one of the most popular choices in Brisbane bedrooms, and for good reason.

Why people choose mirror doors

  • They make a room feel bigger and brighter. A full-length mirror reflects light and visually doubles the space, which helps a lot in smaller bedrooms.
  • A built-in full-length mirror. No need for a separate mirror on the wall or the back of a door.
  • Clean, timeless look that works with most styles of home.

Things to keep in mind

  • Fingerprints and smudges show more easily, so they need a regular wipe.
  • In a bedroom where you prefer a calm, darker feel, a large mirror can feel busy.
  • Mirror doors usually cost a little more than standard board panels.

Every mirror door we make is fitted with a safety backing film on the back of the glass, which helps hold the glass together if it is ever broken.

Board (colour panel) sliding wardrobe doors

Why people choose board doors

  • More colours and finishes. Board panels come in a wide range of colours and finishes, so you can match your skirting, flooring or bedroom furniture.
  • Warmer, softer look that suits a relaxed bedroom.
  • Hides marks better than glass and is easy to clean.
  • Usually the most budget-friendly option in our standard finishes.

Things to keep in mind

  • You lose the full-length mirror, so you may want one elsewhere in the room.
  • Dark colours can make a small room feel smaller.
  • Custom colours and coloured MDF boards depend on the supplier, so lead times can be longer than our standard finishes.

Can I have both?

Yes. A very popular option is to mix the two, for example one mirror panel and one board panel, or a mirror centre door with board doors either side. You get a full-length mirror without the whole wall being glass.

Which is best for each room?

  • Small bedrooms and studies: mirror, to bring in light and make the room feel larger.
  • Main bedroom: either works. Many people choose a mix, or mirror if there’s no other full-length mirror.
  • Kids’ rooms: board is usually the practical choice, as it hides marks and handles everyday knocks better.
  • Hallway, linen and laundry cupboards: board in a colour that matches the walls or trim keeps it clean and simple.
  • Rentals and investment properties: board in a neutral standard colour is easy to look after and keep looking fresh.

Looking after your doors

  • Clean mirror panels with a soft cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive products.
  • Wipe board panels with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent.
  • Keep the bottom track clear of dust, hair and small objects so the doors keep gliding smoothly.
